We became patrons of the art while we were running from our grief. It was the best decision we ever made. We literally go to a live performance every week. From the local repertory theater to Broadway performances coming to the college. And everything in between. We saw our granddaughter in a play last night. It was painfully wonderful.

Every time I go my heart swells, I enjoy what I’m seeing and I cry just a little. But it’s for the energy, passion and authenticity of the performers. Thank you for putting this into another way to get people to go to live performances.

Oh Teri, that's beautiful. What a marvelous way to channel your grief. There's something so oddly intimate about local theater, etc. I'm really glad you're putting your heart here.

Lordt. I needed to read this today. Starting tomorrow I have to spend two days at a Godforsaken "AI training summit" at work. Saying I want to walk in front of a bus instead isn't putting it strong enough.

But this reminds me that I am seeing live music on Friday once its all over with. Which is what I will focus on and where I will find the return of my humanity. That's the one hope I have in the age of AI, that there will be a backlash against the cloying fakeness of it all and people will clamor for the clumsy and human once again. I have a similar audacious hope about the state of our country too, so I may be grasping at straws. But then what is more clumsy and human than hope?

I am so sad you must go to the AI summit--may it not be all the awful. But YAY to live music, and I loooooove "what is more clumsy and human than hope"!!

Agreed. I cringe when I see these AI images, especially when they’re shared by people who think they’re real.

And I love live theater! It’s one of my favorite things to enjoy!

This is it. We have to stay in our physical selves!

Yes, we must stay in our wacky, goofy, amorous, tender, raw, messy, awkward, befuddling bodies so we can extend dignity to others...

On the money. The AI fakery is poisonous BS and real human art is the whole-grain goodness that feeds the soul. Thanks for this!

Thank you! I wish that people weren't always so fascinated by the shiny new toy.
